Carbon capture and emission reductions in the ejido Reforma Agraria, Marques de Comillas, Chiapas
The project in the ejido Reforma Agraria started in 2006. The project has aimed to increase carbon stocks, reduce emissions from deforestation, improve productive management activities and enhance community infrastructure.
The project involved capacity building in local communities to allow the management, development and trade of stored carbon, and the monitoring and evaluation of carbon in forest ecosystems. The project aimed to improve the efficiency of productive activities to promote conservation of forest ecosystems and therefore the maintenance of carbon stocks.
