The Environmental Protection Act (EP Act) provides for the management, conservation, protection and improvement of the environment , the prevention, control of pollution, the assessment of the impact of economic development on the environment and the sustainable use of natural resources.
The EP Act established the Environmental Protection Agency, outlines the process for conducting Environmental Impact Assessments for projects and the process for granting environmental authorisations to developers.
