The 2010 nationwide forest cover assessment will provide an updated overview of the nation’s forest resources. The Forest Inventory & Management division of the Forest Department conducted the vegetation mapping using 23.5 m resolution IRS (Indian Remote Sensing) images accompanied by field checking. Prepared maps were then sent to each range forest office for ground verification. The report is currently being finalized.
