The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is a government agency that manages state functions in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, irrigation/water services and rural development. MARD is responsible for the implementation of REDD in Vietnam and, therefore, has a number of directorates and departments that are involved in REDD+ readiness activities. The Minister chairs the National REDD+ Steering Committee.
