Guyana and Sri Lanka now live on the REDD Countries Database

We’re excited to announce that comprehensive new REDD Readiness research for Guyana and Sri Lanka is available from the 11th October 2011 on the REDD Countries Database.

Click on the country names for a quick overview of the state of REDD Readiness in each, or for a detailed view of their REDD policies, plans, laws, activities, statistics, activities and financing.

The most frequent request we’ve had from stakeholders since the successful launch of the database earlier this year has been to cover more countries: now information is available for Brazil, Cameroon, Vietnam, Guyana and Sri Lanka, and we’re getting straight back to work to publish a further 10 countries before COP 17.

The Database is a project of the Global Canopy Programme and the Forum on Readiness for REDD and has been developed in collaboration with an international team of REDD experts. Forest Carbon Asia provided the lead research for Sri Lanka and Tim Laing of the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics led on research for Guyana.

We hope you find the expanded resource even more useful, and please share your knowledge to help us identify gaps and to improve the database’s  by sending an email to database@theREDDdesk.org. You can also sign up to our newsletter here.
