Compliance REDD at last? The scoop on state-level initiatives

Given the fate of US federal climate legislation in 2010, and the slow progress towards the establishment of a UN REDD+ crediting mechanism, it now seems that state/provincial initiatives may be the first to establish a compliance-grade REDD+ Mechanism, setting a precedent if and when national governments get their act together. During this session, participants will discuss what’s going on with REDD at the State/Provincial level, with a focus on California's upcoming cap-and-trade program and the Governors' Climate and Forest Taskforce.
