Forests 2011: Conservation and Management of Forests for Sustainable Development – Where Science Meets Policy
In this high level international conference marking the end of the International Year of Forests 2011, policy makers and scientists will discuss what science can contribute to improved ecosystem services of forests in Europe and beyond. Top keynote speakers will reveal scientific breakthroughs and a position paper will be discussed with key stakeholders.

The objectives are to identify and discuss what science can contribute to improved ecosystem services of forests for the benefit of the people.To contribute to the ongoing policy processes at European scale, more particularly the review of the EU Forestry Strategy, the Green Paper on Forest Protection and Information of the EU, and the EU FLEGT and REDD facilities.
