Environmental Defense Fund

The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) is a leading national non-profit organisation based in the United States of America. Established in 1967, EDF links science, economics and law to create innovative, equitable and cost-effective solutions to environmental problems, in the areas of climate, oceans, ecosystems and health. 

EDF is dedicated to protecting the environmental rights of people, including those of future generations. These rights include access to clean air and water, healthy and nourishing food, and flourishing ecosystems.

EDF takes a multi-disciplinary scientific approach to evaluating environmental problems and works to create and advocate solutions that win lasting political, economic and social support because they are nonpartisan, cost-efficient and fair.
