Les mangroves, qui pourraient protéger le Cameroun de la montée des eaux, pourraient être soumises à plus de pressions qu’elles ne peuvent endurer, alors que la population qui migre vers la côte Sud-Ouest du pays coupe les arbres à un rythme si soutenu qu’il ne permet pas la régénération, selon des scientifiques du CIFOR.

Indonesia officially extends forestry moratorium

The Indonesian government has officially extended its moratorium on new logging and plantation concessions in 65 million hectares of forests and peatlandsi for another two years. The move, which had been expected, was announced Wednesday by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
