The second Article of the Executive Decree 495, issued in October 2010, designates that the Ministry of the Environment of Ecuador (MAE) register all measures to mitigate climate change.  Within this context, REDD+ activities that are being developed in Ecuador must be registered as climate change mitigation measures.  The MAE is in the process of developing this National Registration System in which all REDD+ activities will be listed and it will be communicated when this registry is ready for use.
