The Regional Government of San Martin is committed to promoting human development and equal opportunities, including sustainable economic development, sustainable management of natural resources and as a cultural and recognised tourist destination. The regional government is decentralised and coordinated, with a functional autonomy. The objectives include social development, environmental sustainability, economic development and regional competitiveness, infrastructure development and institutional strengthening.
