Briefing Note on REDD+ negotiations

This report discusses the outcomes of the UN Climate Change Conference, Bonn 14-25 May 2012.  It examines REDD+ outcomes from the SBSTA and the AWG-LCA and makes recommendations for improvement. UNFCCC negotiators should understand that their responsibility is not only to agree and construct a future compliance framework by 2020, but also to provide encouragement for early actions and clear guidance to countries undertaking REDD+ readiness.
