REDD+ Partnership Workshop on Scaling up REDD+ Finance

The theme of the second REDD+ Partnership workshop of 2011 was “Scaling up REDD+ Finance”. Themeeting was co‐chaired by Delphine Eyraud, France, and Ciro Russo, Brazil, and attended by over 90participants, including 60 representatives of 40 countries, 29 stakeholders from NGOs, IGOs and theprivate sector, and 4 representatives of the FMT/PT.The objective of the workshop was to deepen the Partnership’s understanding on topics concerningthe scaling up of finance through informal discussions.The agenda centered around four themes: Mobilizing private sector finance Lessons from the fast‐start – practical pilot experiences of scaling up result‐based incentives Characteristics of the funding needs for REDD+ Barriers to scaling up REDD+ finance/enabling environmentsFor each theme, introductory remarks were made by a few Partners and Stakeholders to start thediscussion, after which the floor was open to all attending.
